Last year I gave my students a tip on how to use the "holiday blitz" to remove some delinquencies off their credit reports. The students who used this strategy reported that they increased their personal credit FICOs anywhere from 44 to 96 FICO points just by using this little-known simple secret strategy.
So, I'm going to up the ante this year. Listen up if you don't have a mid-FICO of AT LEAST 720 or higher.
This project will cost you about $62 to do this because you'll be sending these letters these letters Priority (which costs $7.35 x 3 envelopes) and you'll need a current copy of your credit report (which you can get for $39.95 from www.Experian.com). But the upside is that you can increase your FICO score FASTER THAN ANY OTHER TIME IN THE YEAR because of the upcoming holiday season due to the credit bureaus being UNDERSTAFFED this time of year! So, take advantage of this ONCE-A-YEAR "credit blitz" by doing this little project (which, at most, will take you ONE FULL HOUR) between today and Sunday night. (The goal is to get your 3 Priority envelopes out in the mail between TOMORROW and NO LATER THAN MONDAY before the post office closes that day.)
Okay, so here are your EXACT instructions:
Step 1: Go to www.Experian.com to get all 3 of your credit reports and FICO scores. This will cost you about $39.95. Don't be cheap. Pay the money. Your entire credit future hangs on doing this project RIGHT the first time out.
Step 2: Print out the file (and also save a PDF copy in your computer) and take a highlighter marker for all the "adverse" items you'd like to dispute with the credit bureaus. (Usually these "adverse" items are listed first in your credit report.)
Step 3: Download my free letters (by CLICKING HERE) and use them as templates for the 3 credit bureaus. You will be creating a letter FOR EACH CREDIT BUREAU SEPARATELY. VERY IMPORTANT: While it's tempting to dispute online, DO NOT SUBMIT DISPUTES ONLINE. This will BACKFIRE on you. Take the time to fill in the letter templates that you downloaded from my website and MAIL OUT THE LETTERS in USPS Priority envelopes (ideally you will want to REQUIRE A SIGNATURE, which will cost an extra $3.05 each envelope or $9.15 total on top off the initial $62 investment so far.)
Step 4: Input each adverse account on your letter templates for each credit bureau. Since most of the information will be duplicate from one report to the other, I recommend creating one letter to include each disputed account and then simply change the credit bureau name and address at the top of the page for each subsequent bureau letter. This will save you loads of time. Be sure to SAVE YOUR LETTER so you can repeat this process in 30 days if needed.
Step 5: Print out each letter. Make 3 copies of your valid driver's license or passport. Make 3 copies of at least 2 utility bills showing your name and your current address. If you moved within the past 2 years, be sure to include your prior address at the very bottom of your credit bureau letters. Each envelope should contain the following: 1 Letter, 1 Driver's License (or Passport) Copy, and 2 RECENT Utility Bill Copies (showing your name and current address). This will disallow the bureaus from playing games with you to buy time by saying something like, "We don't believe this is a legit dispute." Or, "Prove your identity," and giving them another 30 days to put off the process. You can't afford to be dickering around like this with them. And since they're understaffed during this time of year, it's typical that they try to blow people off with whatever lame response they can muster if you don't have all the paperwork I outlined above in your envelope.
Make sure you send the envelopes to the CORRECT and current addresses on file for each bureau which are as follows:

Get those suckers out in the mail (remember, use USPS Priority with a SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION) today or tomorrow (no later than)!
And what happens next?
Most of the credit bureau staff is either gone on vacation starting yesterday. Those who are working aren't mentally "on the job" and are probably going to be pissed off that they're working when they believe they shouldn't be but because they don't have enough seniority to have time off. These are the staffers who will be grumbling because they have to sit in their soul-sucking cubicle in a barren office. So, likely they're playing Candy Crush instead of working just to "stick it to the man." This means that your envelope just rots away on their desk, garnering no attention at all. (I'll explain in a minute why this is actually a good thing!)
In case you don't know how imperative this 30-day period is (starting tomorrow), let's analyze this period.
If you mail your letters NO LATER THAN THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS on Monday (ideally you'll get them out today), they'll get the letters via USPS Priority (2-day) which means they arrive to the bureaus by Wednesday (the day BEFORE Thanksgiving, ideally) or Friday (the day AFTER Thanksgiving, worst case scenario). This is when the clock for you starts ticking on the 30-day time frame in which they are legally required to complete your investigations on your claimed disputes. Thirty days from that day (that your envelope arrives) is going to be right after Christmas. And nobody is there between Christmas and New Years either. In fact, during most of this next 30-day period, many of the credit bureau (and creditors including collection agencies, law offices handling collections, etc.) are taking loads of time off too.
TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THIS ONCE-A-YEAR "CREDIT BLITZ" BECAUSE THIS HAPPENS ONLY ONE TIME PER YEAR...THIS YEAR BEING MORE "SPECIAL" THAN OTHERS DUE TO EVEN MORE LIMITED WORKING STAFF DUE TO COVID-19.
Let me walk you through what happens when you file a dispute with the credit bureau. They receive your letter and have 30 days to investigate your dispute. During this investigation, they will send a letter to the creditors you are disputing and require that they send the appropriate documentation required to substantiate that the account(s) you are disputing is yours.
Except that during the "holiday blitz," many of these employees working for these companies aren't around, they're taking extra time off, and when they actually are working, their minds are elsewhere such as thinking about shopping, cooking, partying, etc. Also, take into consideration that many people are in quarantine or working from home so these people are definitely NOT on their "A-Game"!
And this is where your advantage comes in. If there is no response (or a late response) from any of these creditors or collection agencies, the delinquent account falls off your credit report altogether as if it never existed in the first place.
You see, your envelope that was rotting on somebody's desk will be picked up by a more experienced credit bureau employee when he/she comes back from the Thanksgiving vacation. They'll be irritated that Lazy Jane didn't do the work (because she was too busy playing Candy Crush, remember), leaving the just-returning-from-vacay responsible staffer with a wheelbarrow full of credit dispute letters that MUST be done before the 30-day deadline...which is now already a full week in. So, this staffer has to work quick to catch up on the work, doing everything in her power to just get them done...usually deleting and updating a bunch of stuff (in your favor) just to get the work completed.
(IMPORTANT: This is ALSO the time where they'll send out boilerplate "form" letters to people who did not include their driver's license or passport copy with 2 utility bills with the whole... "We're putting your investigations on hold until you prove your identity" shtick. This is why you MUST include a VALID copy of your driver's license or passport with 2 recent utility bills showing your name and current address so this DOESN'T happen to you!)
Within the past couple of years, because of major hacking breaches of security with the bureaus and among major creditors like Capital One, the credit bureaus were blasted with so many disputes in recent years so they started using slick tactics to "buy time" in order to put off the 30-day time line. They would do things like sending letters back stating that they didn't believe the letter was a "valid claim" or that they needed "proof" of your identity such as a driver's license and utility bill. (This is why you are REQUIRED to include these things with your dispute letters.)
So, let me reiterate what you'll be doing, for maximum clarity, because I won't be able to respond back to you in time if you send me an email for clarification (only if you want to take advantage of this "holiday blitz" because you don't have a mid-FICO of AT LEAST 720 or above). You're going to download these letters that are in the Microsoft Word document format. There is one for each of the bureaus including their respective addresses at the top of each letter. (Double check to make sure the address is the same as what I have above. What I have above are the MOST RECENT dispute addresses. Use those addresses.)
Next, get a copy of your credit report. If you received one recently (within the past 45 days or so) you can use that one. Otherwise, go to www.experian.com and download a new copy. Yes, it'll cost you $39.95. So what? You can also try some free services like www.creditkarma.com. You really don't need your FICO. You just need your delinquent or "negative/adverse" accounts.
Next, fill out each letter. Include your full name, current residential address, and your prior address if you've moved in the past 2 years. Include your Social Security Number and your date of birth.
The letters I've given you only has a section for one single disputed account. Copy the entire dispute section and keep pasting it underneath one right after the other for each account you will dispute. Put in the name of the creditor, the partial account number as shown on the credit report, and the dollar amount listed.
Here's a hot tip: Collection agency accounts (including those from a law office) will come off easier during this time than those from banks or very large lenders.
Print off your letters, SIGN the letter with a wet signature (use blue ink, if possible) then include a copy of your driver's license AND a utility bill of a major utility like the electric company or water company. Make sure the service address on the bill MATCHES the address where you currently reside. This will give them no excuse to kick out your dispute to buy themselves time.
Go to the post office and send via USPS Priority with a signature confirmation. You'll have tracking information for each one. Ideally each bureau will receive your Priority envelope no later than the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. This is when the 30-day clock will start.
Then, REPEAT THE PROCESS AGAIN on December 26th. You'll want your next set of 3 letters going out ON December 26th (even if you didn't receive a response back yet from the credit bureaus). You want those next set of disputes hitting their desks RIGHT BEFORE THE NEW YEAR. This second round won't be as effective but...if, say, 30% of your disputed items were positively updated or completely removed for you during the Thanksgiving Credit Blitz, then a second round can get, say, another 15% positively updated or completely removed, giving you some MAJOR positive progress when it comes to cleaning up your credit and boosting your overall FICO score.
By following these instructions, you will make the greatest impact on boosting your personal FICO during this time over any other time of the year because of these holidays that create "stumbling blocks" for the bureaus and creditors to respond in time.
Finally, I should add one more valuable tidbit of information if you want to dispute "inquiries": Experian is the only bureau that will allow you to dispute your "hard" inquiries. So, on your Experian letter, you can mention that you are also disputing the following inquiries then list the name of the company that put the inquiry on your credit and the date of the inquiry. Doing this alone can boost your score 10 to 20 points alone with Experian. (The other bureaus won't remove hard inquiries but sometimes I ask them too anyway because you never know when they may change their policies.)

Many of you know that I have a highly successful Money Funnel student named Bev. She's over 70 years old and makes over $85,000 in profits with her internet business.
Bev has been in and out of the hospital for years now...as long as I've known her. But, I guess I've always expected that this old bird takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Never did I expect the bad news I got from her grandson recently.
That she's on her way to hospice care.
Yes, that was the conversation I had with her grandson last week.
And just yesterday he finally got back to me and confirmed that Bev is, in fact, now officially in hospice care.
My heart is really sad right now. Bev and I got to know each other so well in the past few years. She became a friend. But not just a friend. She became more like family to me.
In 2005 my mom was put into hospice care for her brain cancer. Within about 6 weeks, she was gone. So, I know what hospice means. It means that usually one doesn't recover.
But, on the other hand, my business mentor and friend, Dan Kennedy, was in hospice last year and he pulled out right when he was on death's door. Dan just wrote me a letter a couple of weeks ago. He said that while his eyesight is shot, he feels pretty good overall.
So...
Maybe there's hope for Bev?
I'll keep you posted in the days and weeks to come. When I know something, I'll pass it onto you.
What's interesting about this whole thing is that at my last event in Detroit which I completed earlier this month, Bev herself allowed me to give the students in attendance a gift. And it was a really powerful one.
I asked if I could offer that gift one more time and she told me I could.
In the meantime, realize one thing:Tomorrow isn't promised to you. Neither is the rest of today. So, live your life to the fullest!

Many of you know one of my most successful Money Funnel students, Beverly-Anne Thiessen...or Bev, as I've been calling her for years.
But then last Thursday her grandson, Rigby, called me out of the blue. This is the guy who has been taking over her highly profitable funnel business for the past few months.
And what he told me was...shocking. It actually made me speechless for a few moments.
He said, "Grandma (Bev) told me to reach out to you. She's not doing so good. We're talking about putting her into hospice care."
Hospice care?
I knew Bev has been sick on and off for the past few years but...hospice care? I just talked to Bev right before my Detroit event. It was on the 28th of September is when I talked to her on the phone and she seemed fine to me. Yes, she seemed a little run down and tired but not sickly or on death's door or anything. And I got an email from her last Monday when I asked about something special that I want to offer to my students (more on that in a second). Her email was very brief. Like, "Yes, that's fine." And that was it. But, I didn't think anything of it at that time.
To figure out if what Rigby was saying was true, I tried calling Bev several times and couldn't get through. I sent her emails. I received no reply.
And that's just not like her!
Now I'm worried. I went from thinking that Rigby was totally full of crap and blowing her health out of proportion to thinking that Bev could now be in hospice as I write this.
I've tried contacting Rigby again and left a couple of messages. He's not getting back to me. So, something is definitely up!
I'm thinking the worst right now. This is so sad for me. I wasn't sure if I wanted to mention this to you or not but decided to anyway because I like to be as transparent and above-board with my students as possible.
So, I thought I'd pass that sad news onto you.

If you think that we can shut down our economy like it's a light switch and just fire it back up at will without any damage...THINK AGAIN!
The state of our economy is IN TROUBLE...severe trouble. And you'll see obvious evidence of this as the weeks and months come.
First of all, many of the companies that have had to furlough people into permanent lay-offs; many companies have done this already.
At least HALF (if not more) of all businesses that have had to shut down for most or all of this pandemic will NOT be re-opening their doors. Like...NOT EVER AGAIN!
Jobs in fast food and menial labor will be HOT job opportunities...but that'll be it for "hot" jobs.
Middle management for most Fortune 100 and 500 companies will be completely dissolved in an effort for these companies to survive. Cutbacks will be necessary in every aspect possible.
But...
Here's the most critical part of all this:
A lot of apartment and commercial building property owners have been struggling because their tenants have stopped paying rent. There's been a federal moratorium that is disallowing banks/lenders to foreclosure and landlords to evict. This moratorium WILL have to end, probably sooner than later. Once it ends, foreclosures and evictions will be in FULL SWING like you've never seen before, putting the crash of 2008 to shame.
While others will have to take huge losses, this will be a time to finally get into the game of real estate investing IF this is something you've been wanting to do for quite some time now. In fact, likely this will be your LAST CHANCE in your lifetime to take advantage of such a spectacular opportunity.

Yes, there will be an economic bloodbath in the months to come...but it doesn't mean that you can't finally get ahead with the opportunities that are coming your way like gangbusters.
I think we're all clued in on what's been happening these days (especially the recent shootings and riots...basically everywhere now) and...it's pretty bad. Isn't it? And there's nothing left to say really in situations like this where the violence is just getting worse with each passing year. It kind of makes one pause and take a step back to figure out where all this is coming from.
First of all, my condolences to those who have sustained losses in ANY of the recent (or not-so-recent) violence that's been happening these days. I have family in Chicago where some of the recent violence has taken place. One family member was in the middle of it and heard bullets whizzing by his ear. Thankfully he escaped physically unscathed. (Psychologically...well, that's a whole other thing altogether.)
I get what it's like being depressed. I understand isolation, loneliness, and a feeling of disconnection from fellow human beings. Especially in our "New Covid-19 World." I get all that.
What I DON'T get is carrying out harm towards others when feeling this way or when being in disagreement...or when trying to make a point about something. To hurt others -- including destroying hard-working peoples' businesses -- is really inappropriate when it comes to trying to make "a point" or to get negative attention.
As time goes on I'm noticing that people are feeling more frustrated, more disconnected, more angry, more helpless...and more out of control. This has been going on for a very long time in this country (and in other places as well). I believe this is why people are doing these things. I may be wrong, but that's just my general assessment. The more off-balance we are becoming as a world, the more these things will not only continue to happen but will happen with greater frequency while more and more people's lives are taken in each incident as these crack-pots get more "creative" in how they can take even more people in one fell swoop.
Pretty soon, people won't leave the house anymore. And the terrorists (including those who are in our own country) will have won. (Yes, these riots are terrorist attacks... Anyone who inflicts pain, death, and fear upon people is a terrorist.)
So, what's the solution to all of this? Is there even a solution?
I don't know. A couple of years ago when I was in Europe, I saw a boatload of Syrian refugees in the middle of the ocean, drove down the very street in Nice, France where the "refrigerator truck terrorist" killed all those people and, a week after departing from Barcelona, saw that there was a terrorist attack there...in the exact same area where we were in Barcelona. (I recognized the art that was painted on the walkway there.) One may think: "Well, that was in Europe."
Now one can and should think: Now it's here, in the United States at any given time and at any given place. (Think about what's going on right now with the riots. Think Vegas, think The Pulse in Orlando, think Sandy Hook...think waaaayyyyy back to 9-11 in case you forgot so, yes, it's HERE too! And it's always been here...and likely always will be until the end of time!)
So...what do you do then? Sit around living in fear? Get depressed? Feel even more hopeless as a nation and as a globe than you did maybe only last week?
Nah. That's definitely not the answer. It can't be. And neither can living safely behind closed doors be the answer either (because who even knows how safe that is anymore).
The answer, I believe, is to keep YOU and YOUR LIFE as balanced as possible. Stay focused and aware of your surroundings. Trust your intuition or your "gut." But don't live in a closet because of fear. Definitely DON'T do that! (Because once you stop living your life out of fear then you die in that moment anyway.)
The question THEN becomes, "How do you stay focused while completely balanced and [gasp] even HAPPY in the midst of all this?" I suppose the true answer differs greatly from one person to the next. For me, I've found that I have to have a deep sense of purpose in what I'm doing, mainly in doing FOR OTHERS and not really for myself. I suggest the same for you. Find some purpose, even if it's just being there for your family and friends. It doesn't have to be this huge sense of purpose to be relevant. Seriously, you don't.
When I was doing my last retreat in Hawaii this past March, I noticed that there was a common theme among many of my students which, before, I would condemn. (I don't anymore.) And that is this: "I just want to make money doing anything so long as I can spend more time with my family while being able to afford to travel and do the things I want to do." While before I thought this was kind of shallow, I later realized that this is exactly what everybody is aiming for. And, perhaps, if EVERYBODY was able to work less (having much less stress) working for themselves (having a sense of CONTROL over their lives) and be able to spend more time with their friends and families traveling and doing what they want (having a better sense of CONNECTION), perhaps everybody would be more BALANCED and more "zen." And zen people don't go out shooting people. They just don't.

If you think the economy is just "fine and dandy" with all the "shut down" damage we've had to withstand since March of this year...think again!
You can't just "shut down" the economy, put it on ice, then thaw it out when it's "the right time." Whenever that'll be.
The economy is not a chicken that you have in the freezer. It's not going to be okay when you thaw it out and cook it.
The bottom 85% of the population (accounting for most of the population and all of the lower and middle class), is struggling right now. The government stimulus and unemployment benefits are drying up as we speak.
And there are some really hard times ahead!
What we're experiencing now is just the beginning.
Next month will start the waterfall of foreclosures and short sales.
Are you ready for what is coming?
Do you even know what's coming??
I'll tell you what's coming.
All of the people who have not been paying their mortgage -- because they can't afford it -- will be slipping into foreclosure in the last quarter of this year. It's going to happen quite suddenly.
Because the system must give!
You can't just put things on "pause" forever. There is no such thing!
And for all of the Clueless Wonders out there who think that it's normal for an economy to shut down, turn back on ("kind of"), shut down, turn on, shut down, turn on (depending on where you are in the country)...and be okay -- think again!
This is not normal.
And there will be major repercussions for everything that has happened since earlier this year.
It's called "cause and effect." If you don't know what that means, it's one of the first things they teach you in science and psychics.
Cause and effect.
Somebody jumps off a bridge. They fall. And maybe they die.
An SUV rams into the back of a Smart Car, the car disintegrates like a cheap tin can.
If you pour gas on a pile of dry timber then light a match, you get an explosion and flames from hell.
Cause and effect. Basic science, folks.
You shut down an economy and send everybody home, the entire economic system collapses.
There's no escaping it.
So, what can you do? What can you expect? How can you line yourself up from not only saving yourself from certain economic devastation but...maybe putting yourself in a position to where you can potentially profit from what's about to happen in weeks to come?
I shot a pretty powerful video telling you everything that is happening now, why October will be the month to mark the beginning of the fall, and what you can do about it to prevent total bankruptcy while wildly profiting from what's to come.
Listen, the difference between the sheep being brought to slaughter versus those who come out on top is a couple of variations:
1) Sheep panic when things go to hell in a hand-basket. Those who come out on top look for that one tiny glimmer of opportunity within the chaos and mayhem.
2) Sheep stand still thinking that somehow not doing anything will somehow empower them when, in actually, doing nothing destroys them. Those who come out on top quickly roll up their sleeves and get to work to jump on those opportunities that begin to reveal themselves when times get hard.
Which will you choose to be? Sheep? Or one who comes out on top?

Here's what most people don't really understand about what's going on with the economy at this precise moment...
You cannot shut any economy down anywhere for as long as we have (since March) and only open it partially without short-term and long-term negative repercussions. It's just not possible!
Even worse, you have a bunch of people who have been getting government hand-outs either via the state unemployment department or the federal government through stimulus payments who...evidently think this money will flow into their bank accounts forever without ever stopping.
And anybody who thinks that has more than just a few brain cells missing.
If the government can shell out cash to people for sitting on their asses watching television all day, they would have probably been giving away cash to everybody already. But, I had to be the one to break the bad news but nobody, even the US Government, has an endless bank account.
What some of the smartest and most brilliant economists have said is this, "The economy right now is like a jet airplane that has just lost all of its engines...it's coasting and it's only a matter of time before it starts to crash!"
Yes, that's the way things are.
Do you honestly think the economy is like a light switch that can be flickered on and off without major repercussions?
Do you think you can have a locomotive train going 100 miles per hour suddenly stop dead on its tracks...then bring it back up to speed without a moment of "re-boot" time?
Do you think you can have almost 50% of all restaurants and bars permanently go out of business in the past 6 months without any rippling effect throughout the economy from all those who are suddenly unemployed to all the companies who service those kinds of businesses?

Maybe the extreme heat in California has something to do with it.
Or the California fires, choking us out with smoke everywhere.
Or the political firestorms.
Or the protests all around the country.
Or Covid-19.
Or ALL of the above.
But I'm in hell now. Officially. And this is the first time in my adult life that I'm convinced of this fact.
Bad news for ALL of you. It's about to GET WORST...and fast!
How?
Because we're slipping into a 2008-like foreclosure and short sale stage.
And most people don't even know it yet.
Take my neighborhood, for example. I live in an upscale neighborhood in northern LA county. Yet 20% of my block has up and left in the past 30 days. Right on their heels were brand new families willing to pay ABOVE market value for these already over-priced homes. (2007, anyone?)
But, strangely, at the very same time, our market is already slipping into mass foreclosures and short sales, mostly in more modest neighborhoods.
So, I've been asking myself a couple of questions:
1) Who are the "ballers" snatching these homes up in my neighborhood within days of them hitting the market, gladly paying well above market value in multi-offer bidding wars?
And...
2) Why hasn't the market "cracked" yet due to all the damage of the Covid-19 shut-down for too long for too many businesses?
If you read the story about Yelp's report, you'd know by now that somewhere between 40% and 50% of the restaurants that were on the app are now listed as PERMANENTLY CLOSED!
This means that there are A LOT of restaurant owners, managers, bartenders, food servers, and other staffers permanently OUT of a job in that industry. And that is NO SMALL INDUSTRY. (By the way, if you want to get a foothold in the restaurant business, open YOUR restaurant by summer 2021. It'll be a great time to get into that business if that's something you've always wanted to do. They'll be virtually no competition and you'll get a super deal on restaurant equipment, a restaurant space, and you'll have tons of experienced staffers to pick from! And if getting a liquor license is just as hard in your state as it is in California, you'll be able to pick one of those up without any resistance at all.)
What does all this mean?
It means that the people who are making money ARE DOING BETTER THAN EVER to the point where they are freely (without a single care in the world) over-paying on already over-priced properties. These are your "upper middle-class" or "upper-class" folks.
Meanwhile, your middle-class to lower-middle-class folks are struggling. And that's where they'll stay for MANY, MANY years (unless they do something proactive about it)!
Why is this?
Because it's at the lower end of the spectrum where you'll find your average labor workers, particularly those hit in the restaurant and other industries (like nail salons, hair salons, etc.)
And, here's another alarming fact: MOST of those businesses that shut down during Covid-19 (some that are STILL shut down) will NEVER recover and will NEVER re-open.
Meanwhile, your Average Joe Blow Lunch Pail doesn't yet see the alarm because he/she is still receiving some government assistance benefits, not being smart enough to realize that the government (state or federal) does NOT have a bottomless bank account. (Nobody does!) And they are stupid enough to still be thinking that everything will be okay.
Except what happens when (1) the money runs out, and (2) you try to go back to your employer and he/she is either (a) permanently OUT of business, or (b) tells you to pound sand because you were too lazy to come back to work when they asked you to due to your lame excuses with "Covid-19"? After all, your employer has already replaced you and you probably don't even know it yet!
There are troubling times ahead.
